Storyline
Better call Saul is a series on AMC starring the comedian Bob Odenkirk as the cunning and charismatic lawyer Jimmy McGill. The TV series is actually a back story to an important character called Sal Goodman in the famous TV show Breaking bad. Jimmy a con artist and a drunkard, decides to bring changes to his carefree lifestyle after his brother Chuck reluctantly bails him out of jail. Chuck gets Jimmy a job in the mailroom of his law firm Hamlin, Hamlin& McGill, Jimmy who looks up to his elder brother decides to become a lawyer, he takes online college courses and clears the bar. Jimmy who thinks his brother will be impressed to see that he cleaned his life and became a lawyer just like him, finds out the hard way that his brother doesn't share the same opinion. His brother Chuck hates Jimmy the lawyer, because he thinks Jimmy would use his con man ways to get things done in this business too, he believes laws are not something to be played around with, however small they may be. So Chuck who believes he has electromagnetic wave allergies tries to sabotage his brother's carrier multiple times.
Another parallel but constantly overlapping story revolves around Mike Ehrmantraut played by Jonathan Banks. Mike a bad ass ex-cop was also a recurring character on the show Breaking bad. Mike's story revolves around his yearning to make his widowed daughter in law's and his young granddaughter's life comfortable. Mike who wants to make some fast cash for his granddaughter, gets his beak wet with drug smugglers in Albuqueque. This is how he gets in trouble with the mexican cartle's Hector Salamanca, and this eventually leads him towards a partnership with smooth and savvy drug lord Gus Fring. Mike gets introduced to Jimmy early in the series, and him with his dry charms manages to become associates with Jimmy. They help each other multiple times in the series.
Another important character in the series is Kim Wexler, she is Jimmy's friend, confidant and love interest. She is also a lawyer, a very good one at that, she leaves her job at HHM for Jimmy and starts a law firm with him. Although Jimmy means well, he somehow drags her down with him everytime, inspite of all the problems, setbacks and warnings from Chuck, she stick with Jimmy.
Charles McGill's electromagnetic wave allergy is an amusing aspect in the story, not only is the condition fascinating, it also shows the softer side of Jimmy. Jimmy takes care of his troubled brother's every need as he locks himself into the house. This makes his brother's betrayal all the more hurtful.
Everyone who has watched breaking bad knows what happens to Saul Goodman, but this story deals with what made Saul Goodman the man we all got to know as Walter White's lawyer, that too in an extremely interesting way. Not only is this a flashback into Saul's life, this show also shows snippets of his life in the future after he goes into hiding. May be there is a story there too, may be the cops find him, or he finds a way to get back into his law business again. You might never know unless you watch the show.

Better call Saul review
This is is a thrilling, very realistic looking, yet strangely funny show, that has excellent character development, exceptional plot, and great actors. I would even say this is a tad better than Breaking Bad.
I would give this awesome show a rating of 4.5/5
